York County Early Childhood Workgroup

The Early Childhood Workgroup is a team of business people, service providers and community members interested in advocating for early childhood care and education across York County. The group is hosted at United Way of York County and had its beginnings as a team created in November 2007 to attend the Governor’s Economic Summit on Early Childhood Care and Education. In addition to the promotion of Born Learning, the group has also launched a Speakers Bureau, and hosts a yearly York County Community Conversation on Early Childhood.

Why this is important?

The future prosperity of our county is based on the positive early development of our children. The first five years are crucial for all children in developing the skills they need as the workforce of tomorrow.

The York County Early Childhood Workgroup, hosted by United Way of York County, promotes the importance of successful birth to five experiences. It is our goal that as a community we ensure a healthy foundation that prepares every child for a bright future.
