AmeriCorps*VISTA
 United Way of York County has been selected to host a full-time AmeriCorps*VISTA to work with the emerging Shared Youth Vision Council for the District of York County (the Council). The Council will work to increase Maine's high school graduation rate to 90% and reduce the number of youth detained in the juvenile justice system. The AmeriCorps*VISTA will help staff, coordinate, and build capacity for the Council's strategic plans here in York County beginning in November.
This could be a great next step for a recent college graduate or an individual with a few years of work experience who is interested in establishing a new collaborative effort to support youth. Candidates must be 18 years or older. More information about this opportunity can be found at the AmeriCorps*VISTA website.
