Did You Know?    

United Way of York County's state and national partnerships allow the organization to bring additional funds to York County:

  • Over the past year the Keep ME Warm fund brought more than $45,000 to York County, helping area residents stary warm and healthy.
  • As an administrator of the federal Emergency Food and Shelter Program, United Way of York County distributed more than $190,000. These funds were directed to programs that provide meals for families throughout York County.
  • More than 5,500 York County residents called    2-1-1 to get connected to health and human services last year. 2-1-1 Maine is a partnership of the 10 United Ways in Maine, Youth Alternatives Ingraham and the State of Maine.

How to encourage new donors as well as returing donors-

Try adding incentives into your campaign. Incentives can be as simple as:

  • A raffle for the best parking spot
  • Gift card to local restaurant
  • Gas card
  • CEO / Manager will wash your car
  • Sleep in late awards
  • Free oil change
  • Pizza party
  • Corporate clothing
  • Causal fridays
  • Movie tickets
  • Extra break time
  • Call in "well" day
  • Lottery tickets

When to use incentives?

  • Payroll deduction gifts at a certain level
  • Individual department % increase in giving
  • Turning in pledge card at rally
  • New donors
  • Attending rally or event
  • Department with highest participation

Gist in the dictionary means the most essential or most vital part of some idea or experience.

You all as coordinators of the United Way Campaign at your place of work are the most essential or most vital part of the campaign at your workplace. The way the campaign is run and perceived by your fellow employees is up to you.

When will you receive this newsletter?
This newsletter will be sent out the last day of every month to offer you ideas and tips to help make the campaign fun. 

 

 

What will the newsletter cover?
The newsletter will also highlight businesses / coordinators and share success stories along with keeping you all in tune with our upcoming events.
