United Way of York County (UWYC) seeks an innovative, energetic and experienced Resource Development (RD) Director to join our team and work with us to strengthen “community conditions by bringing people and resources together to effect long-lasting changes that improve lives.” The RD Director oversees all aspects of our resource development efforts while focusing on the annual community campaign, building relationships with local companies and their employees by understanding their interests and needs, and connecting the ongoing strategic work of UWYC to these interests. This vital team member is responsible for the development of all campaign processes; recruiting, engaging and supporting leadership volunteers; securing grants and sponsorships to support our priorities; and collecting and analyzing key metrics to measure success.
The RD Director reports to the President & CEO and will also work closely with other staff to integrate all aspects of resource development into our work across the county. This full-time position based in Kennebunk, Maine will require travel across the region on a regular basis.
The successful candidate will possess strong organizational, planning, and analytical skills as well as keen attention to detail. This person must be able to motivate others and work well with many types of people. Experience with year-round relationship building with company leaders, campaign representatives, donors and volunteers is essential. Demonstrated ability to help stakeholders like these fulfill their interests through their involvement with and giving through an organization like United Way is ideal.
This full-time, salaried position with benefits requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5+ years of direct fundraising, sales, or related experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment. Experience with grant writing and fundraising software strongly preferred. Demonstrated leadership ability, professionalism, and excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. A valid driver’s license is required.
