Grant Writing Workshop 2017

"Grant Winning: back to basics, building a grants program with a strong foundation"

This workshop is full as of 3/23/17. If you would like to be put on the Waiting List, please send an email to Fiona Robinson.

This workshop with Heather Denkmire is appropriate for organizations new to the grants process and also for seasoned grants administrators to review the basics and identify areas of improvement in their grants programs.

Preparedness — What issues must an organization address to begin or improve their grants program?

Using information collected from the organization before and during the workshop, participants will explore organizational strengths and weaknesses related to grant winning readiness.

Plan preparation — What are the key elements of an effective grants plan?

Research — Maine Philanthropy Center’s Christina Foster will provide a tour of the research tools available for free at the MPC offices.

Research, going deeper — How to understand a funder’s goals beyond the surface.

Participants will work in teams to search for funding leads using the Foundation Center Online’s database; participants will leave the workshop with a set of potential funding partners.
